CCPA/GDPR/Big Data. Hypothetical scenario 2. Jan 2, 2020, someone popular, influences 50k people to request “Right of Erasure”. 1st I must sell all their Personal Information to a trusted company so that I can buy it back later. Whew, One issue taken care of, lol.
Now I need to find the Personal Information of all the 50K people and erase their information from our RDBMS Systems and call it a day.
Shucks! What about my off-site disaster recovery back-ups, my 7,000 marketing laptops, OCR, Biometrics, Office/PDF!? Heck, the RDBMS is good enough, the regulators won’t know that’s all we did, I hope.
