If you want to reach CCPA / GDPR Compliance, it all begins with your hiring practices. My experiences with companies suggest that it can be a very flawed process. CCPA and GDPR compliance requires building or buying technology that very few companies have familiarity with & quite probably limited technological understanding. How will your HR folks hire the right people if they aren’t given proper job specifications from your technical resources? Hiring has changed, skills have evolved, there are no general IT folks that can help you reach CCPA compliance. Remember, GDPR is only a few years in the marketplace and CCPA, though announced, does not go live till January 1, 2020. Now Nevada, NY Texas and others are in the race & some with even tougher Regulations. Just as medical doctors have specialized in order to satisfy the needs of their patients, CCPA and GDPR compliance requires individuals with very deep and specialized technical skills to get the job done.
