GDPR Versus CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act) – Poland’s GDPR Office just imposed a $245,000 fine against a firm. 600 million to 3 Billion in Civil penalties, and 45 Billion in possible Attorney General Fines could be the outcome of CCPA actions involving an equal number of customers.

Though technologies or manual processes needed to become GDPR or CCPA compliant are very similar, risks are far greater with CCPA as the regulations grant California residents the right to sue without proving damages in court. In our opinion, the potential for Class Action suits under CCPA poses the far greater concern.
